OSCAR, OSCAR, OSCAR

Well, the winners of the 82nd Annual Academy Awards were announced yesterday, and I am pleased to say that I got most of my predictions correct. Only predicting the acting, directing, picture, screenplay and music categories, I managed to score 8/11, with missing out on the documentary and screenplay categories with a nice surprise with Precious.

Kathryn Bigelow, Female Director (think Rob Schneider movie and you'll get it)

It was wonderful to see Kathryn Bigelow collect her prize as Best Director and even better to see her not go on about being the first female director. In fact she didn’t mention it at all, which I could see Babs Streisand slightly foaming at the mouth. Despite this history making moment, that Academy managed to take 10,000 steps back in playing Helen Reddy’s anthem of the 1970s women liberation “I Am Woman”. I nearly vomited.

Baldwin and Martin were pretty damn good as hosts, but the best moment came here:
