What perfect timing (Wednesdays with Woody) for the trailer to arrive for Woody Allen’s new film To Rome With Love. Originally titled The Bop Decameron, and then Nero Fiddled (my personal favourite out of the three chosen names), To Rome With Love sees a group of interrelated couples traipsing around Rome in a lighthearted comic fashion.
The cast is to die for and sees Allen’s first performance since 2006’s Scoop. Another welcome return sees Judy Davis appearing as Allen’s wife in her fifth collaboration after Celebrity, Deconstructing Harry, Husbands and Wives and Alice. The film also stars the appropriately anxious Jesse Eisenberg, the enigmatically deadpan Ellen Page, the voluptuous Penelope Cruz and 30 Rock‘s Alec Baldwin.
The film will open on US screens on June 22 through Sony Pictures Classics. An Australian date has yet to be released, but it cannot come quick enough!
