And they finally came around. Some surprises with Kathryn Bigelow (who I thought was set to win) and Ben Affleck out for Best Director, and Nicole Kidman snubbed for her performance in The Paperboy after being nominated by the Hollywood Foreign Press (Golden Globes) and SAG. And what a surprise it was to see Jacki Weaver enter the race again, after almost no precursor nominations and no warning.
