2The word that best represents last night’s episode of Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries is ‘awkward’. Now that sexy hot Det. Jack (Nathan Page) has withdrawn from Miss Fisher (Essie Davis), when the two meet on a new case unexpectedly the tension can be cut with a knife.  With strong words from the delicious Jack, ‘I don’t want you to go…I need you to go’ in relation to the two working the same case we really start feeling a bit sad for our beloved Miss Fisher.

There were many good things in last night’s episode:  A new weirdy called Beatrice who clearly has OCD, the death of a Professor with a Japanese samurai sword slash to the throat, the drugging of poor Mr. Butler (Richard Bligh) with an unsuspecting jam sandwich and a daring break in to Miss Fisher’s house.  So much action compacted into just one hour!

What we all really want to talk about though is the scene on the motorbike.  The way Phryne grabbed Jack’s waist and the two rode all fast and romantic.  The way Det. Jack’s wide brimmed abomination hat flew off in the heat of the moment (and with a little help from the breeze!).  I was hoping he might finally decide to leave that hat behind. Although, if it came down to it Det. Jack could certainly just ‘leave his hat on’…. .  Anyway, I digress, I screamed so loudly with happiness that Betty the cat ran to her hidey hole in my bedroom cupboard and waited there until Miss Fisher had finished.  She’s still ignoring me.

After last week’s episode the delightful and charming Essie Davis chatted to fans on facebook.  I asked her:

‘Will Miss Fisher and Jack ever get together? I ask on behalf of the ladies of the ABC who wish to see Jack with less clothes’.

 She responded with:

Yes, he is quite foxy!…. I guess you’ll have to wait and see!

Hear that ladies?  Essie is on team Jack too!

Luckily for fans nationwide at the end of the episode an agreement between ‘foxy’ Jack and the beautiful Miss Fisher was made.  Their working relationship is back on and described eloquently as a waltz, slow and close.  I like the sound of that.

Now, only one question remains:  Where the hell did that little girl who was living with Miss Fisher go?
